Have you thought about using your dentist for facial aesthetics treatments? Here at Adams Dental, we have been offering Botox in North London for some time now. People already trust us with their teeth and know how much care and expertise we put into our dental treatments. Now they also trust us with their faces.
At first it may seem a bit odd to go to a dentist for a beauty treatment, but, if you think about it, getting Botox in North London from someone who has spent at least five years doing intensive study and training to work with the teeth makes sense. That study involves garnering an in-depth and intimate understanding of the muscles, bones, nerves, tendons, skin, blood vessels and organs that make up the head and neck.
Along with this, dentists are skilled in using injections to administer local anaesthetics in sensitive areas in the mouth, so it’s a quick hop to using that skill and knowledge to administer Botox or dermal fillers to the facial area.
An extension of cosmetic dentistry
The way we see it here at Adams Dental, if you invest in treatments to make your smile look fabulous, you are going to want to make sure your smile is set off to its best advantage by the face that frames it, so facial aesthetics are a natural extension of our work with making wonderful smiles.
How does Botox work?
Botox is a purified protein from the botulinum type A toxin. It was originally developed to combat excessive sweating. It works by temporarily paralysing the muscles that contract to produce wrinkles.
The muscles tend to be in the upper facial area:
- Crow’s feet around the eyes
- Worry lines between the brows
- Surprise lines across the forehead
- Smoker’s lines around the upper lip.
We inject a small amount of Botox into the muscle and over the next week or so, it gradually relaxes. Treatments last about four months and can be topped up after about three months. Why not come in to our surgery today and find out what Botox in North London can do for you?
